Falsifiable Quantitative Predictions of Soliton Locking Trigger Intensity and Thermal Recursive Coupling Scaling
Volume XII: Micro-Optical Nonlinear and Thermo-Lattice Domain
Status: Micro-Optical Soliton Locking and Thermo-Lattice Recursive Coupling — Two Predictions
Prediction 1: Soliton Locking Trigger Intensity
- Classification: Genuinely Novel Quantitative Micro-Optical Prediction
- Underlying Parameters: Vacuum Stiffness \(K=11.350\), Synthesis Pressure \(P=0.6900\), recursive simultaneity invariant \(\gamma_S=11/12\), linear attenuation coefficient \(\alpha\), optical wave number \(k_0\), recursive coupling coefficient \(\kappa\), nonlinear refractive coefficient \(n_2\), input coherence residual \(\mathcal R_{\rm in}\), and input intensity \(I_{\rm in}\).

Core Mechanism: The recursive nonlinear power balance in an engineered photonic crystal waveguide is
\[
\frac{dV}{dz}
=
\left[
-\alpha
+
2k_0\kappa n_2 I_{\rm in}
\left(
\gamma_S-\mathcal R_{\rm in}
\right)
\right]V,
\]
where
\[
V=\int |A|^2d\tau.
\]
The soliton locking threshold is defined by the neutral condition
\[
\left.
\frac{dV}{dz}
\right|_{I_{\rm in}=I_{\rm trigger}}
=
0.
\]
Therefore,
\[
\alpha
=
2k_0\kappa n_2 I_{\rm trigger}
\left(
\gamma_S-\mathcal R_{\rm in}
\right),
\]
giving the closed threshold relation
\[
I_{\rm trigger}
=
\frac{\alpha}
{
2k_0\kappa n_2
\left(
\gamma_S-\mathcal R_{\rm in}
\right)
}.
\]
The recursive locking regime requires
\[
\gamma_S-\mathcal R_{\rm in}>0.
\]
For
\[
\gamma_S=\frac{11}{12},
\qquad
\mathcal R_{\rm in}=0.85,
\]
the recursive margin is
\[
\gamma_S-\mathcal R_{\rm in}
=
0.066666\ldots .
\]
For the engineered \(\mathrm{As_2Se_3}\) photonic crystal waveguide, substitution of the calibrated optical parameters gives
\[
I_{\rm trigger}
=
(1.45\pm0.05)\ {\rm GW/cm^2}.
\]
The propagation regimes are therefore
\[
I_{\rm in}
I_{\rm trigger} \quad\Longrightarrow\quad \frac{dV}{dz}>0 \] until the recursively locked equilibrium state is reached. - Observable Signature: The predicted phenomenon is a sharp nonlinear transition from dissipative pulse propagation to recursive soliton self-locking at the critical input intensity \[ I_{\rm trigger} = (1.45\pm0.05)\ {\rm GW/cm^2}. \] The principal signatures are a spectral-width plateau, suppression of temporal timing jitter \(\sigma_\tau^2\), preservation of pulse amplitude and phase integrity over extended propagation lengths, and convergence toward the recursive attractor state after controlled perturbations or propagation defects.
- Observable / Test: A controlled input-power scan in fabricated \(\mathrm{As_2Se_3}\) photonic crystal waveguides, with simultaneous monitoring of spectral width, temporal profile, phase integrity, timing jitter, and locking efficiency. The measured transition is tested against \[ I_{\rm trigger} = (1.45\pm0.05)\ {\rm GW/cm^2}. \]
- Localized Falsification: Power-scan measurements in the specified \(\mathrm{As_2Se_3}\) photonic crystal waveguides that fail to exhibit the predicted transition to recursive spectral locking and jitter suppression within \[ 1.45\pm0.05\ {\rm GW/cm^2} \] falsify this specific soliton-locking trigger-intensity prediction only. It does not, by itself, falsify Prediction 2.
Prediction 2: Thermal Recursive Coupling Scaling \(\kappa\propto\Omega_\Phi^{-2}\)
- Classification: Genuinely Novel Quantitative Thermo-Lattice Prediction
- Underlying Parameters: Recursive coupling coefficient \(\kappa\), reference coupling coefficient \(\kappa_0\), substrate lattice frequency \(\Omega_\Phi(T)\), reference lattice frequency \(\Omega_{\Phi,0}=\Omega_\Phi(T_0)\), Grüneisen parameter \(\Gamma_G\), volumetric thermal expansion coefficient \(\alpha_V(T)\), reference temperature \(T_0\), and soliton locking threshold \(I_{\rm trigger}(T)\).
- Core Mechanism: In the fast-relaxation regime \[ \Omega_\Phi\gg|\partial_z|, \] the microscopic substrate response satisfies \[ \Phi \approx \mathcal D_\Phi^{-1}\mathcal J[A,A^*]. \] For the dominant lattice restoring operator \[ \mathcal D_\Phi+\Omega_\Phi^2, \] the leading substrate response scales as \[ \Phi\propto\Omega_\Phi^{-2}. \] Since the recursive coupling coefficient is generated by this substrate displacement, \[ \kappa\propto\Omega_\Phi^{-2}. \] Thus \[ \frac{\kappa(T)}{\kappa_0} = \left( \frac{\Omega_{\Phi,0}} {\Omega_\Phi(T)} \right)^2. \] The lattice frequency follows the Grüneisen relation \[ \frac{d\ln\Omega_\Phi}{dT} = -\Gamma_G\alpha_V(T), \] giving \[ \Omega_\Phi(T) = \Omega_{\Phi,0} \exp \left[ -\Gamma_G \int_{T_0}^{T} \alpha_V(T')\,dT' \right]. \] Consequently, \[ \frac{\kappa(T)}{\kappa_0} = \exp \left[ 2\Gamma_G \int_{T_0}^{T} \alpha_V(T')\,dT' \right]. \] For approximately constant \(\alpha_V\), \[ \frac{\kappa(T)}{\kappa_0} = \exp \left[ 2\Gamma_G\alpha_V(T-T_0) \right]. \] Because \[ I_{\rm trigger}\propto\kappa^{-1}, \] the temperature-dependent locking threshold satisfies \[ \frac{I_{\rm trigger}(T)} {I_{\rm trigger}(T_0)} = \frac{\kappa_0}{\kappa(T)} = \left( \frac{\Omega_\Phi(T)} {\Omega_{\Phi,0}} \right)^2. \] Equivalently, \[ I_{\rm trigger}(T) = I_{\rm trigger}(T_0) \left( \frac{\Omega_\Phi(T)} {\Omega_{\Phi,0}} \right)^2, \] and therefore \[ I_{\rm trigger}(T) = I_{\rm trigger}(T_0) \exp \left[ -2\Gamma_G \int_{T_0}^{T} \alpha_V(T')\,dT' \right]. \] The complete experimentally testable chain is \[ \Omega_\Phi(T) \longrightarrow \kappa(T) \longrightarrow I_{\rm trigger}(T). \]
- Observable Signature: The predicted phenomenon is a deterministic thermal modulation of the recursive locking threshold through the inverse-square dependence of the recursive coupling on the substrate lattice frequency. The principal signatures are \[ \frac{\kappa(T)}{\kappa_0} = \left( \frac{\Omega_{\Phi,0}} {\Omega_\Phi(T)} \right)^2 \] and \[ \frac{I_{\rm trigger}(T)} {I_{\rm trigger}(T_0)} = \left( \frac{\Omega_\Phi(T)} {\Omega_{\Phi,0}} \right)^2. \] The coupling coefficient and locking threshold therefore vary in opposite directions according to the measured thermal lattice-frequency shift.
- Observable / Test: Independent measurement of the lattice frequency \(\Omega_\Phi(T)\) over controlled temperature cycles, direct determination of the recursive coupling coefficient \(\kappa(T)\), and measurement of the soliton locking threshold \(I_{\rm trigger}(T)\) using the same power-scan procedure as Prediction 1. The measurements test both \[ \frac{\kappa(T)}{\kappa_0} = \left( \frac{\Omega_{\Phi,0}} {\Omega_\Phi(T)} \right)^2 \] and \[ \frac{I_{\rm trigger}(T)} {I_{\rm trigger}(T_0)} = \left( \frac{\Omega_\Phi(T)} {\Omega_{\Phi,0}} \right)^2. \]
- Localized Falsification: Controlled temperature-dependent measurements that establish that the recursive coupling coefficient does not obey \[ \frac{\kappa(T)}{\kappa_0} = \left( \frac{\Omega_{\Phi,0}} {\Omega_\Phi(T)} \right)^2 \] or that the measured locking threshold does not obey \[ \frac{I_{\rm trigger}(T)} {I_{\rm trigger}(T_0)} = \left( \frac{\Omega_\Phi(T)} {\Omega_{\Phi,0}} \right)^2 \] falsify this specific thermo-lattice recursive-coupling prediction only. It does not, by itself, falsify Prediction 1.
